COURSES

1  MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT 

You must be at least eighteen years old at the time of booking.

2  FEES

2.1 Full payment of the course fees must be received one month prior to commencement of courses of length one week or more, and two weeks before shorter courses.  Your place on the course cannot be guaranteed until full payment is received. 

2.2 All fees stated are inclusive of VAT at the prevailing rate.

3  METHODS OF PAYMENT

3.1 Fees can be paid online, by bank transfer (please contact us for account details), by credit card on the telephone.

3.2 Fees of £500 or less can also be paid in cash.  Fees of over £500 can only be paid in cash by prior arrangement. Any refund of cash bookings can only be made by bank transfer.

3.3 Payment will appear on your bank statment from Funky Flowers Limited our parent company.

4  NON-UK RESIDENTS

4.1 Please include contact details for your UK stay when making your booking in case we need to contact you prior to course commencement. 

4.2 Please ensure that your booking is confirmed and that the course is running before you make any travel arrangements. We cannot offer refunds for travel or accommodation costs.

5  VISAS 

5.1 If you do not hold a UK / EU / EEA passport, you may require a visa that allows you entry to the U.K. in order to take one of our courses. For more information, please see the UK Home Office website at http://www.gov.uk. It is your responsibility to determine how far in advance you need to apply for a visa if it is required, and to allow sufficient time to obtain a visa. 

5.2 If you are refused entry to the UK, you will not be eligible for a refund of course fees. 

5.3 If your visa is delayed, you will also not be eligible for a refund of course fees.  At our discretion, however, we will consider transferring you to another course at a later date. 

6  CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

6.1 Cancellations by you 

6.1.1 You may cancel your place on a course up to two weeks before the course start date. Under these circumstances you will be entitled to a full refund of course fees, less the required deposit fee for the course purchased.

6.1.2 If you wish to cancel within two weeks of the course start date you will not be entitled to a refund. However, at our discretion and subject to availability, you may be able to use the course fee as credit towards a future course.

6.1.3 If you have booked a course within one month of its start date, condition 6.1.2 will apply.

Please note that refunds can take up to three weeks to process.

6.2 Cancellations by us

6.2.1 Please note that courses have minimum attendance levels and may be cancelled if too few bookings are received.  We reserve the right to amend or cancel courses. 

6.2.2 If we cancel a course we shall endeavour to give you at least one week’s notice.  You will have the option of transferring to another course or having a full refund of the fees, which we will return to you within three weeks. 

6.2.3 We will not be liable for any losses (including, but not limited to, travel and accommodation costs) arising as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of courses or timetabling constraints as set out above, beyond the cost of the course fee.

7  NON-ATTENDANCE

7.1 If you are unable to attend a class or classes due to illness, or for personal or professional reasons, you will not be entitled to a refund, extra tuition or to automatically transfer to another course. However, we will consider such action that we believe to be fair and reasonable. 

7.2 Please note that if alternative options are offered, there may be an additional charge.

8  UK BANK HOLIDAY WEEKENDS

There are no classes on UK Bank Holiday weekends and published course dates reflect this.

9  Certificates

9.1 To achieve a certificate of attendance you must attend at least 80% of the course.

9.2 You will be presented with a certificate at the end of the course and the name given on the booking form will be the one that appears on the certificate.

9.3 If you miss the last session of the course, your certificate can be posted to you within the UK at no additional charge.

9.4 There will be an additional postage charge for certificates sent outside of the UK.

9.5 You may also collect your certificate from the London Flower School by prior arrangement.

9.6 Replacement certificates can be produced up to one year after completion of your course, but will be subject to an administrative fee of £50.

10  Materials and equipment 

Materials and flowers are included in the course fees where stated on the course information page within our website.

11  Photography and video 

11.1 You may take as many photographs of your own work as you wish during the course. 

11.2 Please ask permission of other students before taking photographs of their work, or using their work on your website. 

11.3 You are not permitted to take videos at the Berkshire Flower School.

12  Student conduct 

Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and to recognise that other students also require support and assistance. If a student becomes persistently disruptive, we reserve the right to issue an oral or written warning and, if this does not resolve the situation, we may, at our discretion, ask the student to leave the course.

13  Health and Safety 

13.1 Students are expected to follow Health and Safety guidelines that are given at the start of each course. 

13.2 Students are asked to wear appropriate clothing and footwear during the course. 

13.3 Students who fail to comply with Health and Safety rules will be unable to participate in the course.

14 Force majeure 

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the performance, in whole or part, of any of our obligations arising from or attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to, strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes (whether involving our workforce or the workforce of any other party), act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, terrorism, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery or heating, lighting, air conditioning or telecommunications equipment, fire, flood, storm, pandemics, epidemics or other outbreaks of disease or infection, or failure in the external supply of electricity, water or telecommunications (including internet) connections.

15  Applicable law 

These Terms and Conditions shall be read and construed in accordance with English law and any dispute between us will be dealt with by the English Courts.
