January Five Day Beginner Course
This course includes all of the three-day beginner course and then on days four and five looks at expanding the skills learnt going into more detail on designs.
On day four there will be a tour around the flower market to expand your understanding and buying skills.
Areas covered include:
- Care and conditioning
- Plant materials - types of flowers and foliage available and different stem types
- Shapes of flowers and how they are used in design
- Basic shapes and styles of design
- Sundry items used in flower arranging
- Principles and elements
- Using floral foam and different types
- Health and safety - use of floristry equipment
- Colour wheel
- Juxtaposition in colour
- Market morning (includes guided tour, breakfast and the ability to buy).
Designs covered:
- Day one - Tied designs
- Day two - Cube contemporary in foam
- Day three - Radiating design
- Day four - Parallel design
- Day Five - Table rings/ Party flowers

- 10am - 4pm daily
- All materials provided
- A light lunch is included as well as refreshments throughout the day
